TJ

The TJ is also known as Wrangler(people get confused and think all Wranglers are the same....). came out in 1997.

When people say, "there is only one Jeep," this was the one. The TJ increased off-road capability and Jeepers greeted it with enthusiasm. "Old school" Jeepers did not tak kindly to the new fangled Wrangler, but all of those Jeepers changed their mind fast as TJ's got built up and proved they could go anywhere the old Jeeps could go, but better and more comfortable. I've heard TJ could stand for "Today's Jeep."

The TJ has an AMC 6 cyl fuel injected 4.0 OHV engine deliver 180 horsepower. This is also the first Wrangler with airbags. TJ has a larger fuel tank, sound system improvement in 2000, new console in 2001. Equipped with Dana 30 fron axle and Dana 35's in the back. (The Rubicon, which came out in 2003, has Dana 44 axles.) Diamond plate rocker guards and Goodyear 1MT/ R 30" tires are standard with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Just taking a quick glance at the TJ, you would notice they returned to the CJ's ionic round headlights. New high bucket seats for better comfort.

By the way you know that beautiful spice top they quit selling in 2002 because "it staind easily." BS.
