All About the JK
Now the new JK Wrangler just came out in 2006, as the 2007 Wrangler. The JK has an even shorter wheelbase for the 2 door, and for the first time ever, Jeep has made a long wheelbase 4 door Jeep Wrangler.
Specs
equipped with 205 horsepower, a 4.7 L six speed manual NSG 370 transmission, and a four-speed automatic transmission is optional. Power door locks and windows are another first for the Jeep Wrangler, and, yes, the doors do still come off. JK has a navigation system, keyless entry, and satellite radio that is probably handy for true off-roaders. The JK is said to be 20% quieter than the TJ. Traditional soft-top is standard equipment. Still available is the Sunrider soft top or new 3-piece hardtop. The new JK is available with a larger standard tire size of 32”, and the break over angle is unchanged. The new systems allow the Jeep to sense when there are dangerous driving conditions and to correct for over steer, under steer or conditions where the Jeep might roll.

Looks
The looks of the JK, is like a mid-size SUV and is cheaper than the TJ(of course after i got mine..). At first glance, the Wrangler JK is clearly a Jeep, an evolution of a classic look. The windshield still folds down; there are round headlights, and seven slots are on the grille. The TJ-style fenders are gone, now replaced with blow-molded plastic “flenders,” which are basically oversized fender flares. Due to crash standards, the fuel tank has moved amidships, and the muffler now sits behind the rear axle. It is an extremely different Jeep Wrangler.
